Congress passes continuing resolution to maintain FY2010 spending until December 3rd

On September 30th, Congress passed a continuing resolution to fund the federal government at the FY 2010 levels until December 3rd, since they failed to pass any of the FY 2011 Appropriations bills.  President Obama was expected to sign the bill before midnight.

Also, as of September 30th, Congress is adjourned to allow time for the November elections.  They will likely return for a “lame duck” session on November 15th, at which time they will probably finish work on the FY 2011 budget.
