On September 13, the Institute of Museum and Library Services is holding a Congressional briefing on how libraries support workforce development. Please contact your U.S. Representative asking their office to send a staffer to this briefing.

WHY:   Libraries play a vital role in our nation’s workforce system.   Through an official partnership between the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration (ETA), state and local workforce investment boards, state workforce agencies, and One-Stop Career Centers are encouraged to partner with public libraries to extend their career and employment services to job seekers and unemployed workers. 

This briefing will illustrate the work libraries do to support workforce development and meet community employment needs in rural, urban and suburban areas nationwide.
