ALA Council passes resolution in support of school libraries and school librarians

At the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in June, the ALA Council passed a resolution encouraging ALA to advocate for school libraries and school librarians. Areas of focus include securing better funding and recognition of school libraries and school librarians in the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
