Advocacy Alert! Stop the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act!

There’s still time to take action to stop the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA), S. 754. The bill is very broad, threatens personal privacy and could result in disruption to library and other networks. The Senate will reconvene this morning at 10am to vote on this bill. Please contact Senators Mikulski and Cardin to ask:

  • VOTE YES on the Leahy and Franken Amendments (No. 2587 and (No. 2612), respectively; and
  • VOTE NO on CISA when the bill itself finally comes to a vote even if the amendments pass.

An easy-to-use tool is available to tweet or email your Senators at http://www.decidethefuture.org/.

For more details, including links to the bill, proposed amendments and background information, see the District Dispatch article.

Thanks in advance for any advocacy you can provide!
